A Miami model when photographer Bunny Yeager introduced her to Hefner in 1958, Joyce Nizzari became his girlfriend, a Playboy cover girl and one of the first Bunnies at the Chicago Playboy Club. "I don't think Hef and I dated very long, really," she says, "but we have remained very good friends over the years. I got married not too many years after we attended President Kennedy's inaugural ball in 1961." Joyce married Jack Hogan, who starred on the TV series "Combat," and moved to Hawaii. The couple had a son and a daughter but later divorced. Joyce married again, but the pair split in 1991. "In between," she says, "I worked for a lot of airlines." For a time she owned a video store in Hawaii, but when her daughter got a job transfer to California, Joyce relocated to the Los Angeles area. There she's a frequent guest at movie screenings and holiday parties at Playboy Mansion West. Even though her active Playmate and Bunny experiences were long ago, Playboy has always continued to be part of Joyce's life. At one time she roomed with Janice Pennington. "That was before Janice became a Playmate. We worked for Barry Ashton's nightclub act at the Statler Hilton. Later on, I was visiting Janice one day when her sister Ann, who was also a Playmate, came over. My second husband told me much later that it was one of the highlights of his life: being the only man in a room full of Playmates."
