When Candy Loving was a baby, her family moved to Ponca City, Oklahoma. Her parents divorced when she was ten, and her mother often worked two jobs to support Candy and her three siblings: older sister Cassi, brother Kevin and younger sister Cari. While attending the University of Oklahoma, Candy entered Playboy's 25th Anniversary Playmate Hunt and won. Over the course of the next five years, she became one of Playboy's most popular spokespersons. 

Returning to the Oklahoma campus, Candy earned a bachelor's degree in journalism and communications and, thinking she'd like to go into social work, took graduate courses in human relations, only to discover that field was not her forte. When a romantic relationship took her to Florida, she took an entry-level sales job for a managed-care health firm. Now a senior executive at another organization in the same field, she is married and has a small daughter.
