Christa and her family moved to the United States after World War Two, and she was discovered by Playboy while working at a bank in Los Angeles. She moved to Chicago and became a Playboy Bunny. After her first, unhappy, marriage ended, she wed puppeteer/TV producer Marty Krofft, with whom she has had three daughters. She now serves as director of talent relations for the family's entertainment company in California.
